Hide House by MRTN Architects on Venus Bay Sand Dune

architecture-design · 2026-05-19

MRTN Architects completed Hide House in 2021, a residence perched on a sand dune crest in Venus Bay, South Gippsland, Australia. The house is oriented to capture views of Anderson's Inlet to the north and grassy tidal plains to the east, while shielding itself from the prevailing south-westerly winds. Nestled among coastal Tea Tree, the design turns its back to the harsh winds typical of the area. The project was curated by Miwa Negoro and photographed by Dave Kulesza. It is categorized under Houses.
