Hidden In Plain Sight: Pirovino and Porritt at Frutta Gallery, Rome

Frutta Gallery in Rome presents 'Hidden In Plain Sight', a two-person exhibition featuring Fabio Marco Pirovino (born 1980, Basel) and Sam Porritt (born 1979, London). The show creates an invisible dialogue between the artists through a mute and surreal environment. Pirovino's works feature black marks that appear expressionistically and casually placed on white canvases, while Porritt's pieces employ simple geometries that evoke impossibility and unease, including teeth chewing something yet to be deciphered. The exhibition includes intimate white candles inside red wine glasses and balloons representing black fears and blue hope, suggesting that these opposing sentiments are perpetually precarious, with everything around us acting as dangerous pins. The title 'Hidden In Plain Sight' alludes to the idea that the essential remains invisible, and that we proceed through deceptive and unconscious filters.
