Hidden Beauty: z2o Gallery's Treasure Hunt Across Rome

exhibition · 2026-05-04

On March 24, 2018, z2o Gallery of Sara Zanin launched Hidden Beauty, a group exhibition curated by Krištof Kintera and Marina Dacci that extends beyond the gallery's physical space into unexpected locations across Rome, including a gym, a bonsai shop, and a bookstore. The project features four Prague-based artists—Anna Hulačová, Pavla Sceranková, Richard Wiesner, and Kintera himself—each exploring the theme of beauty through diverse formal approaches. Kintera's installations are hidden within everyday commercial spaces to encourage visitors to rediscover the city and seek beauty in familiar places. The exhibition route starts at the gallery on via della Vetrina 21, continues through via dei Coronari, via del Governo vecchio, and ends in Vicolo Savelli. Kintera stated that much of his work is placed in non-conventional venues. Each artist offers a distinct interpretation of hidden beauty: Kintera finds it in the assembly of disparate objects that gain new meaning together; Wiesner uses material objects like televisions that once belonged to people, allowing them to live on in a different form while preserving memory; Hulačová researches identity; and Sceranková investigates the diverse perception of the world that symbolizes every human being.
