Hermès presents new home collection at Milan's Teatro Vetra with Mauricio Rocha installation

exhibition · 2026-05-05

During Milan's Fuorisalone, Hermès unveiled its 2016 and 2017 home collections at the Teatro Vetra, a small theater on a tree-shaded piazza. The installation by Mexican architect Mauricio Rocha features a display of raw brick cells, where objects are secured by ropes and sliding elements. The collection, named 'Objects,' includes numbered pieces such as sofas, seating, paperweights, bookstands, magnifying glasses, and magazine racks, treated like artworks. Artistic directors Charlotte Macaux Perelman and Alexis Fabry oversaw the launch. Designers include Rafael Moneo, Noè Duchaufour-Lawrance, Pierre Charpin, and Nigel Peake, a longtime Hermès collaborator. The objects reflect Hermès' heritage with leather upholstery, precious materials, clean lines, and meticulous craftsmanship by cabinetmakers, upholsterers, and finishers. The installation also showcases the Orìa d'Hermès, Pippa, and Equilibre collections, the Sellier sofa, lacquerware, plaids, fabrics, wallpapers, and decorative panels. Equestrian themes evoke speed, sculptural beauty, and movement.
