Hermannsburg Potters' Ceramics to be Loaned to Temora Arts Centre
The Temora Arts Centre in New South Wales' Riverina region will host a remarkable exhibition of First Nations artworks for a duration of two years, facilitated by the Albanese Government's Sharing the National Collection initiative. Starting from 14 August, the display will highlight creations by the Hermannsburg Potters, a group of Western Arrarnta artists hailing from Central Australia. Celebrated for their striking handmade ceramic pots, the Ntaria/Hermannsburg Potters from the Northern Territory reflect both collective and personal histories tied to their Country. The exhibition will feature pieces from seven talented women artists, illustrating the development of their craft over 30 years, with a recurring focus on the significance of music and songs within their communities.
