Henry Zankov Named Artistic Director of Diane Von Furstenberg
Henry Zankov has been appointed Artistic Director of Diane Von Furstenberg, a newly created role at the company. The appointment follows CEO Graziano de Boni’s 2025 decision to bring DVF’s business back in-house after four years of outsourcing management to Chinese licensee Glamel. Zankov previously worked at DVF in the mid-2010s under creative director Jonathan Saunders and returned last year to design a capsule collection for Bergdorf Goodman. In his new role, he will oversee all creative aspects including collections and visual identity, debuting in September during New York Fashion Week. A native of St. Petersburg, Russia, who immigrated to New Jersey as a child, Zankov launched his own knitwear-forward label in 2020 and will continue operating it from DVF’s meatpacking district headquarters. Von Furstenberg, who introduced the wrap dress in 1974 and turned 80 this year, noted that both she and Zankov trace roots to Chișinău, Moldova. Zankov aims to expand beyond the wrap dress, emphasizing effortless pieces like T-shirts and trench coats.
