Henning M. Lederer animates vintage book and record covers in new short film

digital · 2026-04-27

German designer Henning M. Lederer has released a new short film titled "Books & Sleeves," the latest in his ongoing series of animated vintage book and record covers. The film features geometric and optical graphic designs that rotate and undulate in a continuous flow set to music. Following previous works "Covers" (2015), "More Covers" (2017), and "Even More Covers" (2018), this installment adds vinyl record covers alongside books. Lederer explains the project was inspired by the question of how these beautiful graphics would appear in motion.
