architecture-design · 2026-05-01

In Taipei, Continental Development Corporation has commissioned Henning Larsen, alongside KHL Architects & Planners, Arup, and Flaviano Capriotti Architetti, to create Northern Lights, a residential tower rising 14 stories. This project, which spans a gross floor area of 3,464 square meters, is expected to be finished in 2029. It will house 46 residences that face south towards Daan Park, maximizing light and views, complete with full-length balconies for passive shading. The building's exterior incorporates pale natural stone and champagne-hued metal accents. Ground-level landscaped spaces will link to the park, and the rooftop will offer communal outdoor areas. Additionally, OMA's Metropolitan Village is anticipated for 2027, and Zaha Hadid Architects' Danjiang Bridge is scheduled to open on May 12, 2026, while MVRDV's Out of the Box is currently under construction.
