Heneghan Peng Architects to transform Bengaluru factory into innovation museum

A consortium led by Dublin-based Heneghan Peng Architects, with London's DROO and local firm Cadence Architects, will convert a historic factory into the Museum of Innovation, Startup & Technology (MIST) in Bengaluru, India. The museum, located on the NGEF campus, will house an exhibition hall and a government-led innovation hub called Innoverse within a steel-framed volume featuring sawtooth roofs and large operable windows overlooking a 105-acre forest. MIST is touted as India's first museum dedicated to modern India's journey in innovation, technology, and entrepreneurship. The design creates a 'reciprocal structure' between the two wings to facilitate cross-pollination. The project is part of a larger redevelopment by the Karnataka Government to turn the NGEF campus into a cultural hub and tree park. Heneghan Peng Architects previously completed the Grand Egyptian Museum in Giza.
