Hendrikka Waage to Present at Scoop During Miami Art Week 2026

Hendrikka Waage, an Icelandic-born painter based between London and Reykjavik, will showcase her work at Scoop during Miami Art Week, represented by Artio Gallery. Waage transitioned from a two-decade career as a jewelry designer to painting during the COVID-19 pandemic. Her 'Wonderful Beings' series features female figures with a single ear, exploring selective listening in an information-saturated age. She previously exhibited twice at Red Dot Miami, where her work sold successfully. Waage holds a bachelor's and master's degree from Fort Lauderdale, where she lived for five years. Her paintings merge expressive color, layered texture, and symbolic figuration, focusing on energy, emotional presence, and joy at a higher frequency. She cites influences from living in Iceland, Japan, Russia, the United States, and the United Kingdom.
