Hemma Schmutz Named Director of Lentos Kunstmuseum and Nordico City Museum in Linz
Hemma Schmutz will lead Linz's Lentos Kunstmuseum and Nordico City Museum starting 1 May. She takes over from Stella Rollig, who departed in October 2016 to become artistic director of Vienna's Belvedere Museum after twelve years in Linz. Schmutz previously directed the Salzburg Kunstverein from 2005 to 2013. Following that role, she taught at the Viennese University for Applied Arts. In 2015, she began working as a curator at Kunstraum Lakeside in Klagenfurt, Austria. The appointment was announced by Lentos Kunstmuseum.
