Helmut Newton's car photography showcased at Lake Como open-air exhibition
The Newton Foundation, in partnership with the prestigious Italian luxury label Larusmiani, is showcasing 'Helmut Newton. Cars' at Villa Olmo, situated on Lake Como. As part of FuoriConcorso 2026, KraftMeister, the garden has been converted into an outdoor museum where art intersects with automotive culture. The exhibition features twenty large-format panels displaying Newton's car photography, captured between 1956 and 2001. This marks the inaugural exhibition focused on this aspect of Newton's work, with plans for a more extensive display at the Berlin-based Newton Foundation. Newton frequently worked in Como starting in the 1970s, especially at Villa d'Este. Matthias Harder, the Director of the Newton Foundation, is the exhibition's curator.
