Helene Blanche launches new fabric and wallpaper collection
Helene Blanche, a textile designer from Denmark, has unveiled a new collection of fabrics and wallpapers that honors textile traditions. Featuring three hand-painted patterns—Cross Stitch, Painted Thread, and Silvia's Cloth—these designs showcase classic needlework against cream backgrounds in shades of dusty sage, indigo blue, and gold. Founded nearly ten years ago from a single ink drop on silk paper, Blanche's brand now offers a range of fabrics, wallpapers, and home accessories. Her creations are found in Soho Houses, hotels designed by Kit Kemp, as well as in the residences of the Rothschilds and royal families. Last year, she designed a custom sienna fabric for the Danish royal yacht Dannebrog. Blanche studied textile design at Central Saint Martins and previously hand-sewed over 6,000 felt strips for Alexander McQueen. Her 2006 partnership with Danish paint company Flügger resulted in a globally bestselling wallpaper collection. Based in Hellerup, Copenhagen, her studio is expanding to include cushions, fabric-covered birch veneer trays, and pleated lampshades, with plans for a room scent and outdoor fabrics this autumn.
