Helen Nisbet Appointed Director of Glasgow International Biennial

Helen Nisbet will become director of Glasgow International starting summer 2025. She succeeds Richard Birkett, who departed after the 2024 edition. The Shetland-born curator expressed enthusiasm about returning to Scotland, citing Glasgow's light, energy, artists, and communities. Nisbet's appointment precedes the festival's 11th edition, scheduled for two weeks in June 2026. Based in London, her previous roles include artistic director for Art Night and CEO and Artistic Director for Cromwell Place. She also served as curator at Cubitt. The biennial features a core curated program alongside open-submission events.
