Heidi Zuckerman appointed CEO and director of Orange County Museum of Art

institutional · 2026-04-20

Starting in February, Heidi Zuckerman will take on the role of CEO and director at the Orange County Museum of Art, located in Newport Beach, California. Previously, she held the position of director and CEO at the Aspen Art Museum from 2005 to 2019, where she played a crucial role in its evolution into a prestigious institution, securing over $130 million in funding. This financial support facilitated the construction of a new facility designed by Shigeru Ban, a Pritzker Prize-winning architect. At OCMA, Zuckerman will oversee the museum's operations and the development of its $73 million new location at the Segerstrom Center for the Arts in Costa Mesa, designed by Thom Mayne of Morphosis. The facility, set to debut in mid-2022, will offer nearly 25,000 square feet for exhibitions and an additional 10,000 square feet for educational programs, performances, and public events.
