Heidi Horten Collection Showcases French Masters in Vienna
The exhibition 'Rendez-vous. Picasso, Chagall, Klein and their times' at the Heidi Horten Collection in Vienna highlights the collector's French paintings. Curator Véronique Abpurg led the tour. Featured are Impressionist greats Camille Pissarro and Pierre-Auguste Renoir, alongside scenes of Montparnasse and Montmartre, as well as a photograph of Christo and Jeanne-Claude's 'Pont Neuf, Wrapped' (1985). The École de Paris is showcased through artists like Chaïm Soutine, Moïse Kisling, Emmanuel Mané-Katz, and Elisabeth Ronget-Bohm. A unique 'show within a show' replicates Villa Dubeau in Antibes. Works by Picasso, Marc Chagall, and Yves Klein explore the effects of World War II on artists. The exhibition is open until October 29, 2023.
