Heidi Horten Collection Debuts at Vienna's Leopold Museum
The Leopold Museum in Vienna is showcasing 'WOW! Heidi Horten Collection,' marking the inaugural public display of an extraordinary private art collection in Europe. Curated by Agnes Husslein-Arco, the exhibition includes around 150 pieces from the collection of Heidi Goëss-Horten, a prominent and affluent Austrian figure. Spanning modern art from the 20th century to contemporary pieces, the collection emphasizes German Expressionism and American Pop Art. Notable artists featured are Edvard Munch, Henri Matisse, Joan Miró, and Andy Warhol, among others. This exhibition will be open from February 16 to July 29, 2018. Heidi began her collection in the 1970s with her first husband, Helmut, but significantly expanded it after his passing in the mid-1990s.
