Hedwig Houben and Naomi Velissariou Receive 2017 Charlotte Köhler Prize

Dutch artist Hedwig Houben has been honored with the 2017 Charlotte Köhler Prize by the Prince Bernhard Cultural Fund for her performance and video work. The award, established in 2013 to assist emerging visual artists and theater practitioners, provides each recipient with €30,000 (approximately £26,000) to support upcoming creative endeavors. Houben shares this year's recognition with Naomi Velissariou, who was selected for her contributions to theater writing and performance. Both artists will be formally presented with the prize during the Young Talent Awards ceremony at Amsterdam's Compagnietheater.
