Heatherwick Studio Revises Louisville Belvedere Park Design
Heatherwick Studio has revealed new designs for the Belvedere, a waterfront park in Louisville, Kentucky, which will link Downtown to the Ohio River. The project, partially situated on a highway overpass that crosses I-64, seeks to rejuvenate a location initially established in the 1970s. It showcases a spacious pavilion made from curved lightposts, a winding pathway, grassy spaces, stone features, and a staircase leading to the Louisville Riverwalk. The design incorporates trees, foliage, a fountain, sculptures, and amenity structures. This revision comes after a design from February 2025 was reduced due to budget and safety issues.
