Heatherwick Studio launches first eyewear collection for Jins with rippling frames

architecture-design · 2026-05-18

Heatherwick Studio has designed its first eyewear collection for Japanese brand Jins, featuring asymmetric frames with undulating surfaces inspired by the movement of liquid. The collection comprises four frame shapes made from resin or titanium, available in colors such as grey mist, amber stone, stream fern, and obsidian black. The titanium versions come in brushed matte or polished finishes. The studio applied its human-centered philosophy to create organic silhouettes that complement facial contours. Executive partner Stuart Wood stated that the design draws from the flow of water, movement of air, and luminosity of stone. The frames utilize Jins' lightweight materials and Airframe concept for comfort. Jins has previously collaborated with designers like Michele de Lucchi, Konstantin Grcic, and Ronan and Erwan Bouroullec. Heatherwick Studio has offices in London and Shanghai with over 250 employees.
