Hdeco's Singh Residence in Noida blends curved brick balconies with Vastu principles
Hdeco (Habitat Design Collective) has completed the Singh Residence in Noida, India, a multi-generational home designed around curved forms, layered privacy, and climate-responsive strategies. The four-story house accommodates grandparents, parents, and children with distinct zones: a flexible ground floor for parking and events, a first-floor social core with living spaces and the grandparents' bedroom, a second floor with private bedrooms each opening onto individual balconies, and a rooftop garden. Constrained by neighboring properties on three sides, the design introduces internal courtyards, skylights, and open balconies to channel daylight and natural ventilation. Curved balcony edges clad in brick tiles soften the massing and create a sheltered entrance with a landscaped garden and water feature for passive cooling. Construction uses filler slabs with earthen pots to reduce weight and expose textured ceilings, AAC blocks with rat-trap bond brickwork for insulation, and light-toned IPS, terrazzo, and stone finishes. Environmental systems include evaporative cooling, rainwater harvesting, greywater recycling, and solar panels. Lead designers are Subhashree Nath and Gagan Yadav.
