HBA Los Angeles Transforms 1966 Office Tower into Seraph Residences in Salt Lake City
HBA Los Angeles has finalized the interior design for Seraph, a residential tower featuring 217 units in downtown Salt Lake City. This marks the inaugural office-to-residential transformation for both HBA and developer Hines. The project converts the South Temple Tower, built in 1966, into modern apartments. Situated along South Temple Street near Temple Square, the design maintains significant architectural characteristics while incorporating contemporary elements. Neoclassical-style arched openings and materials that echo the colors and textures of Salt Lake Valley are included. Amenities comprise a resident lounge on the seventh floor, an outdoor pool deck, a fitness center, a pet lounge, and a rooftop lounge on the 25th floor offering sweeping views. HBA partner Kathleen Dauber highlighted the importance of balancing preservation with innovation.
