Hayao Miyazaki's Sherlock Holmes Anime Free on Raiplay
Since December 22, the first six episodes of 'Il fiuto di Sherlock Holmes' (Sherlock Holmes: The Anime), directed by Hayao Miyazaki, are available for free on Raiplay. The series was presented at the Rome Film Festival as part of a retrospective. Produced in the early 1980s as a co-production between Rai and Tokyo Movie Shinsha, it adapts Arthur Conan Doyle's detective stories with anthropomorphic animal characters. The available episodes are: 'Le aragoste di corallo', 'L'avventura dei tre studenti', 'La bambola francese', 'La banda maculata', 'La campana del Big Ben', and 'La corona di Mazzarino'. This release is the beginning of a project to make the entire series available, currently undergoing restoration.
