Hauser & Wirth Now Represents Italian Artist Roberto Cuoghi

Hauser & Wirth has announced the international representation of Italian artist Roberto Cuoghi. Born in 1973 in Modena, Cuoghi is known for a practice that defies categorization. His recent career milestones include presenting at the 57th Venice Biennale's Italian Pavilion curated by Cecilia Alemani with the work "Imitazione di Cristo- Il Mondo Magico" alongside Giorgio Andreotta Calò and Adelita Husni-Bey, and the exhibition "Perla Pollina 1996-2016" split between the Centre d'Art Contemporain in Geneva and the Museo Madre in Naples. The collaboration's first public appearance will be at the ADAA Art Show in New York from February 28 to March 3, where Hauser & Wirth's booth will be entirely dedicated to Cuoghi's recent installations. Marc Payot, Partner and Vice President of Hauser & Wirth, stated that the relationship evolved from years of admiration and the gallery's growing engagement with Italian artists and estates, including those of Fausto Melotti, Fabio Mauri, and Piero Manzoni. Hauser & Wirth recently opened its first Los Angeles exhibition of Manzoni in 20 years. Future plans include Cuoghi's solo show and the gallery's first participation in miart in April, where artists like Lygia Pape (at Fondazione Carriero), Anna Maria Maiolino (at PAC), and Anj Smith (at Museo Poldi Pezzoli) will be presented in Milanese museums. In May, Ca' Pesaro in Venice will host a major retrospective of Arshile Gorky, whose estate Hauser & Wirth has represented since 2016.
