Haus Nuller debuts Bauhaus-inspired fashion at Venice Biennale
Designer Chiara Angelica Gandini launched her fashion label Haus Nuller with the exhibition 'Breaking the Chain' in Venice during the Biennale. The collection features hand-woven textiles incorporating stainless steel chains, displayed in her family's Dorsoduro home. Curated by Formafantasma and art-directed by Stefanie Barth, the show presents woolens woven with metal across palazzo-style rooms. Gandini, a Central Saint Martins graduate, developed the technique over two years, facing resistance from weavers fearing machine damage. The name 'Nuller' references the Bauhaus and the German word for 'of little value,' critiquing gender divisions in craft. The studio also consulted on B&B Italia's re-edition of the 1958 'Catilina' chair. The collection is available for viewing in Milan on 20-21 May 2026.
