Haus der Kunst Opens in Palermo's Cantieri Culturali alla Zisa

Palermo celebrated the opening of its Haus der Kunst on October 15, 2016, situated in a renovated Ducrot factory hangar at the Cantieri Culturali alla Zisa. This Casa dell'Arte, designed for public access, will facilitate various activities by the Verein e.V. Düsseldorf Palermo, such as artist residencies, workshops, concerts, performances, and collaborative projects. The initiative, led by Michael Kortländer and Alessandro Pinto, has promoted artistic collaboration between Sicily and North Rhine-Westphalia since 2013. The inaugural exhibition, Haus der Kunst #1, showcases works from 28 artists, including Felix Droese and Petra Fröhning, and will be on display until November 12, 2016, featuring diverse artistic forms and fostering innovation beyond local stereotypes. Additionally, it signifies a partnership between the Academies of Fine Arts in Düsseldorf and Palermo.
