Haunch of Venison Opens Chelsea Space with Group Show 'Boundaries Obscured'

Haunch of Venison New York has officially taken possession of the previous Yvon Lambert gallery located at 550 West 21st Street in Chelsea, launching the exhibition 'Boundaries Obscured' from September 23 to November 5, 2011. Curated by Emilio Steinberger, the show showcases the works of ten artists, such as Jake & Dinos Chapman, Peter Saul, Gunther Uecker, and Ahmed Alsoudani. Featured pieces include 'Eulogy' (2011) by Patricia Piccinini and 'The Temporal Sitter' (2011) by Kevin Francis Gray. Customs delayed the Chapman brothers' work, 'Fucking with Nature' (2009). Uecker's piece, 'Aschemensch (Ash Man)' (1986), draws inspiration from Yves Klein. Established in London in 2002, Haunch of Venison became a subsidiary of Christie's in 2007, while Yvon Lambert retired and closed the New York gallery in 2011.
