Hästens and Wayne Gretzky Unveil Upgraded Grand Vividus Mattress

other · 2026-04-24

Swedish luxury bedmaker Hästens has introduced an upgraded version of its Grand Vividus mattress, originally launched in 2020 and priced from $868,990. Designed in collaboration with interior designer Ferris Rafauli, the new iteration adds more layers of horse hair, wool, and cotton for enhanced comfort, while retaining its signature leather base with brass studs and nameplate. The bed, which takes over 600 hours to handcraft, is a nod to Hästens' 19th-century saddle-making heritage. Rafauli also designed a sister mattress, drēmər, at a lower price point without the leather base, now receiving similar performance upgrades. New additions include mohair headboards and a line of luxury nightstands. The brand has partnered with hockey legend Wayne Gretzky and his wife Janet Gretzky for a campaign, emphasizing the role of sleep in wellness and performance. Rafauli noted that wealthy clients prioritize health, with rest as the centerpoint of wellness. The Grand Vividus was previously featured in rapper Drake's Toronto residence.
