architecture-design · 2026-05-04

HARU stuck-on design, a family of decorative adhesive tapes developed by Nitto Group / Nitoms and design studio SPREAD, was presented at the 2018 Milan Design Week. The product line includes three material families: washi tape (soft matte Japanese paper), PET tape (glossy and durable, suitable for gym floors), and OPP tape (combining washi with transparent film for geometric patterns). Available in eight colors and two pattern families, HARU is easily removable and replaceable, offering a tactile quality. The tape was showcased at Ventura Future during Fuorisalone 2018, where it was installed on totemic elements in a tunnel of Milan's Central Station, accompanied by quotes from artists and writers. Previous applications include the Sohko Renovation Study Group's intervention at Warehouse Konan in Tokyo (2016) and graphic works for 100BANCH in Shibuya (2017) commissioned by Panasonic Corporation. The product aims to revolutionize wallpaper and trompe-l'œil concepts, allowing users to transform spaces through simple application.
