Harold Berg's Matta-Clark Collection at Accademia di San Luca

The Accademia Nazionale di San Luca in Rome presents 'Collecting Matta-Clark. La raccolta Berg: opere, documenti e ephemera', an exhibition showcasing Harold Berg's collection of works by Gordon Matta-Clark. The show includes drawings, photographic prints, cibachromes, original films, and ephemera such as catalogs, artist books, and newspaper articles. Organized in collaboration with Berg, Federico De Melis, and Gianni Dessì, the exhibition highlights reasoned collecting as scientific research tracing the American artist's creative journey. Visitors can immerse themselves in early 1970s Soho, experiencing Matta-Clark's first interventions on abandoned buildings, the FOOD restaurant, and the Anarchitecture group, where artistic creation opened gaps in architectural structures, altering their nature and function. The exhibition runs from December 14, 2018, to February 25, 2019.
