Hans Ulrich Obrist Receives 2015 International Folkwang Prize

Hans Ulrich Obrist, curator and codirector of Serpentine Galleries, has been named the recipient of the 2015 International Folkwang Prize. The award is presented by the Folkwang Museum in Essen, Germany, and recognizes exceptional efforts in making art accessible to wider audiences. Now in its fifth iteration, the prize honors individuals or organizations that significantly advance public engagement with art. Obrist's extensive writing and leadership at Serpentine Galleries contributed to this recognition. In 2012, he co-organized the performance art exhibition 12 Rooms at the Folkwang Museum as part of the Ruhr Triennial. The announcement was made on September 8, 2015.
