Hans Mayer Receives 2015 Art Cologne Prize
Hans Mayer, who founded Galerie Hans Mayer and played a pivotal role in the creation of Kunstmarkt Köln, now known as Art Cologne, has been honored with the Art Cologne Prize for 2015. This prize is given annually by the German gallery and art dealer association (BVDG) in partnership with Koelnmesse to acknowledge significant contributions in art communication. This year also marks 50 years since the establishment of Galerie Hans Mayer, famous for its innovative events blending theatre, fashion, dance, and music, including Steve Reich's first concert in Germany in 1972 and performances by Kraftwerk.
