Hannes Peer and Minotti unveil sculptural 'Blaine' table at Salone del Mobile 2026

At Salone del Mobile 2026, architect Hannes Peer and Italian furniture brand Minotti introduced the 'Blaine' table, a design merging sculptural expression with precise engineering. The table features a cast aluminium base with trestle-like legs that curve gently and include an opening resembling a carved form, evoking artistic elegance akin to an artwork. Peer, drawing from his upbringing as the son of an artist, cites inspiration from Henry Moore and modernist casting techniques seen in the work of Florence Knoll and Ray and Charles Eames. He describes the design process as starting with 'wild forms' that were refined through months of collaboration with Minotti's team, involving up to 30 people including engineers and family members, creating a bottega-like environment. The base is offered in polished or painted cast aluminium, paired with a top of marquetterie wood or marble, making it a visually striking piece that commands attention in a room. Peer emphasizes the importance of storytelling in design, viewing each piece as part of a broader home environment, a vision shared with Minotti. This collaboration follows previous projects like the 'Emmi' chair and 'Nico' table, showcasing Peer's sculptural approach integrated into Minotti's portfolio.
