Hanna Rochereau's 'Data Divas' at Mare Karina, Venice

Hanna Rochereau (Paris, 1995) presents 'Data Divas', her first solo exhibition in Italy and in Venice, at Mare Karina gallery. The show explores archival systems through a dialogue between painting and sculpture. Paintings depict filing cabinets and shelves with sealed boxes, based on pre-existing or custom photographs. Sculptural installations feature tailor mannequins atop scattered papers and open drawers with empty documents. The painting 'Them' mediates order and disorder, showing closed drawers except one. The color palette is predominantly white and wood tones, referencing synthetic cubism and Giorgio Morandi's metaphysical atmospheres. Rochereau transforms the archive from a device into content, presenting a potential, empty archive that critiques the impulse to archive. The exhibition runs until July 18, 2026.
