Han Nefkens Foundation launches $100,000 moving image prize with Asian museums

A $100,000 art prize dedicated to moving image works has been established through a partnership between the Han Nefkens Foundation and three major Asian museums. The award targets artists or collectives of Asian origin, nationality, or residence who are aged 35 and above. Selection will be handled by a jury chaired by Han Nefkens and including museum directors Kataoka Mami of the Mori Art Museum, Suhanya Raffel of M+, and Eugene Tan of the Singapore Art Museum. Announced in early October, the winner will have 18 months to complete a commissioned piece. This new initiative aims to foster stronger connections among the participating institutions. The completed work will be exhibited at each partner museum.
