Hamzehian e Mortarotti: atomic age and Middle East at Galleria Alberto Peola
Anush Hamzehian (Padova, 1980) and Vittorio Mortarotti (Savigliano, 1982) present their research starting from Trinity Site, New Mexico, where the first nuclear explosion occurred on July 16, 1945. Their work, combining photography and video, maintains an aesthetic and poetic depth while connecting to the tense political situation in the Middle East. The exhibition, titled "Il genio è uscito dalla bottiglia" (The genie is out of the bottle), explores how history is rewritten through individual memory and interpretation, contrasting the average American's reinterpretation of facts with the experience of an Iraq war veteran who knows the genie cannot be put back. The show runs at Galleria Alberto Peola in Turin.
