Hakim Bey's Radio Sermons Published in French
Éditions Le mot et le reste has published 'Hakim Bey, Sermons radiophoniques', a collection of radio interventions by Peter Lamborn Wilson, known as Hakim Bey. The broadcasts were made over twenty years ago on WBAI-FM Pacific in New York, during the program M.O.R.C. Bey is famous in art circles for his concept of the Temporary Autonomous Zone (T.A.Z.), first published in 1991 and translated into French in 1997. His work blends Nietzschean philosophy, spiritualism, and esotericism, and he describes himself as an 'ontological anarchist'. The sermons explore themes of collective creation, art as play, secret societies like the Chinese Tong, convivial autonomous structures, the banquet model, and friendship as a form of life. Critic Christophe Kihm notes that Bey's success also stems from his classicism.
