Hagai Levi adapts Etty Hillesum's diaries into a miniseries
Israeli creator Hagai Levi has adapted the diaries of Amsterdam Jew Etty Hillesum into a miniseries covering her final years. Hillesum's writings, less known than Anne Frank's, were left with a confidante in 1942 in hope of posthumous publication. She died in Auschwitz in November 1943. A publisher was only found in the early 1980s, and interest in her thought has steadily grown since. The series is titled "Etty."
