Haerizadeh, Haerizadeh e Rahmanian alle OGR di Torino
The trio of Iranian artists Ramin Haerizadeh (Tehran, 1975), Rokni Haerizadeh (Tehran, 1978), and Hesam Rahmanian (Knoxville, 1980) present a deliberately eclectic exhibition at the OGR (Officine Grandi Riparazioni) in Turin. Curated by Abaseh Mirvali, the show challenges the romantic notion of a unified artistic style by involving assistants and colleagues in both conception and production, turning the trio into an open, porous entity. Mirvali invokes the Persian term 'dastgah' (device, machine, melodic matrix) to describe how the artists act as continuous, repetitive 'painting machines.' The result is a kaleidoscopic array of video animations, still lifes using historical Fluxus objects, pre-revolution private albums, floors inspired by Harold Pinter, paintings, and robots. A highlight is the video 'Black Hair,' created with artists Nargess Hashemi and Laleh Khorramian, and custodians Edward St. and Indrani Sirisena.
