H.H. Lim's 'Origine del dettaglio' at Museo Pigorini

H.H. Lim's solo exhibition 'Origine del dettaglio' at the Museo Preistorico Etnografico Luigi Pigorini in Rome, organized under the Swich program, presents a visual dialogue between traditional folk objects and contemporary art. Lim, born in Malaysia in 1954, studied the museum's extensive collections, focusing on Indonesian and Malaysian artifacts. The exhibition transforms the display into a creative exercise, with objects placed on horizontal supports that become collaborative bases. Lim's wooden panels, a signature strategy, feature inscriptions like 'In bilico tra rosso ossido e nero d’avorio' that invite viewers to engage closely. A series of chairs titled 'Punti di vista,' from the MAXXI permanent collection, offer panoramic views on dialogue and participation.
