Gyan Panchal's Sculptural Material Explorations at Galerie Frank Elbaz

Gyan Panchal's exhibition 'Ce lien qui nous sépare' at Galerie Frank Elbaz in Paris, from September 8 to October 13, 2012, delves into material strata and folds using industrial materials like insulating paper, polyurethane, and polystyrene. The sculptor employs subtractive and additive processes, contrasting with petrochemical extrusion. Works such as 'Dhoighos' (2011) reveal sanded layers, while 'Tloqai' and 'Rtis' (2012) combine alchemical silver leaf and marble powder with synthetics. The monochrome surface in 'Dhoighos' expands, 'Margon' (2011) escapes its frame, and 'Quotrod' (2012) threatens collapse.
