Guillermo Kuitca retrospective at LaM and full interview published in artpress 489
The complete interview featuring Argentine artist Guillermo Kuitca and critic Ticio Escobar has been released by the French art magazine artpress, following an excerpt in issue 489 from June 2021. This release aligns with Kuitca's retrospective titled "Dénouement," currently exhibited at LaM in Villeneuve-d'Ascq, France, which will be on display throughout 2021. Curated by Sébastien Delot, this marks Kuitca's first major exhibition in France since 2000, showcasing four decades of his artistic journey. In the interview, Kuitca reflects on architectural designs and cartography as "provisional traces" that shape new spatial arrangements. He mentions works like "Páginas perdidas" (2018) and "El idiota de la familia" (2019), while Escobar draws parallels between Kuitca's art and the ideas of Jacques Rancière. The translation was done by Frédérique Destribats and Catherine Millet. Additionally, Kuitca will present part of the Fondation Cartier's collection at the Triennale di Milano until September 12, 2021.
