Guido Guidi's Photography Exhibition at 10 Corso Como, Milan

exhibition · 2026-04-26

A new exhibition titled 'Da un’altra parte' at 10 Corso Como in Milan showcases the work of Italian photographer Guido Guidi (born 1941 in Cesena). Curated by Alessandro Rabottini, the show focuses on Guidi's long-standing investigation of shadow as the result of the encounter between light and space. Guidi's approach is phenomenological, akin to Merleau-Ponty's reading of Cézanne's Mont Sainte-Victoire. His subjects include everyday, anti-monumental forms from places like Ronta and Preganziol, where he lived and worked while teaching at IUAV in Venice. The exhibition uses new mobile walls to create a path that encourages slow looking, featuring works from the 1960s to recent years. Another section presents photographs from the early 1970s to 2023, highlighting recurring themes and creating dialogues across decades. Guidi, a teacher and mentor who formed a school of photography between Venice and Ravenna, explores time, transience, and emptiness, echoing Antonioni and Tuscan Renaissance painting. The show is supported by Viasaterna gallery, which has long represented Guidi.
