Guggenheim Foundation Announces 2026 Fellows Including American Artist, Sonya Clark, and Allison Janae Hamilton
The Guggenheim Foundation has revealed its latest group of Fellows, marking the 101st cohort with 223 honorees spanning 55 different disciplines. Among the distinguished fine artists are Brooklyn's own American Artist, textile artist, and educator Sonya Clark, as well as interdisciplinary artist Allison Janae Hamilton, joined by 27 other talented artists. Each Fellow receives a stipend aimed at supporting their artistic projects in what the Foundation describes as "the freest possible conditions." Edward Hirsch, the Foundation's president and a poet, expressed that this new group showcases "the world's best thinkers, innovators, and creators in art, science, and scholarship." He believes these 223 individuals will produce remarkable and thought-provoking work as the Foundation enters its second century. The selection process for this year is now complete.
