Guerreiro do Divino Amor Transforms Swiss Pavilion with Superfictional World Atlas Chapters

exhibition · 2026-04-20

Representing Switzerland at the 60th Venice Biennale, Guerreiro do Divino Amor will showcase from 20 April to 24 November 2024. The Giardini pavilion will host two new segments of the Superfictional World Atlas project: 'The Miracle of Helvetia' and 'Roma Talismano,' which delve into Switzerland and ancient Rome through the lens of cartography. The installation will also feature architectural critiques of Western racial superiority symbols. A new film, filmed at the Istituto Svizzero, includes Ventura Profana as the Lupa Capitolina. The artist's vision emphasizes accessibility to art through Vimeo and Brazilian schools, challenging Western hegemony and celebrating Brazil's rich artistic landscape. Collaborators on this project include Ventura Profana, Davi de Jesus do Nascimento, Sallisa Rosa, and Diego Paulino, with a focus on critiquing national representation at the Biennale.
