Gucci's London Exhibition Explores Materiality and Translation Through 18 Artists
The second exhibition at Gucci's New Bond Street location in London, curated by Truls Blaasmo and chosen by Creative Director Sabato De Sarno, is set to continue until September 2024. This showcase features 18 artists as part of the Gucci Art Program, including notable pieces such as Ettore Spalletti's Base Colore (1991), Stuart Arends's Slating 12 (1990), Maurizio Anzeri's Heavenly Sounds – Pink & Yellow (2017), and Flavie Audie's 2024 glass Bricks series. Additional standout works include John Giorno's LIVING IN YOUR EYES (2019), Bokani's Silence (2021), Franco Mazzucchelli's Bieca Decorazione series, Jamilah Sabur's 2023 mixed-media piece, and Sonia Boyce's 2005 performance Exquisite Tension. The Gucci Art Program was initiated in 1977 by Aldo Gucci with the establishment of Gucci Gallerias.
