Gucci-Inspired Black Jigsaw Project Puzzles Sell Out

All 100 limited-edition puzzles from the Black Jigsaw Project, inspired by Gucci looks, have sold out. The project is the latest initiative by My Queer Blackness, My Black Queerness (MQBMBQ), a digital platform exploring queer Black identity. Launched in December 2020 with support from Gucci, it involved American illustrator Ggggrimes and Ghanaian painter Kwesi Botchway, who created artworks titled Our Home Self Love. These were transformed into 200 puzzles (only half offered for sale) in A3 format with 384 pieces each, depicting figures wearing looks from Gucci's Epilogue collection presented in a 12-hour live stream in July 2020. The boxes were designed by Cary Fagan. Proceeds go entirely to the Italian Movimento Identità Trans. Jordan Anderson, founder of MQBMBQ, creative director, and editor-at-large for nss magazine, noted strong global sales. MQBMBQ launched in June 2020, raising over €12,000 through a fundraiser selling works by 12 artists including Tim Walker, Campbell Addy, and Emmanuel Sanchez Monsalve, benefiting ForTheGworls and Transwave JA.
