Guatemalan artist Gabriel Rodríguez Pellecer prepares first institutional exhibition at MAC Panamá in 2024
In 2024, the Museum of Contemporary Art in Panama will host the inaugural institutional exhibition of Guatemalan artist Gabriel Rodríguez Pellecer. Chosen by Edgar Calel for ArtReview's Future Greats 2024, Rodríguez Pellecer's diverse practice includes architecture, teaching, and curating. His 2023 drawings, created during a residency at the Delfina Foundation in London, delve into sacred geometry linked to the MAC Panamá structure. Utilizing natural pigments such as indigo and incorporating palo de Campeche bark on chlorine-treated linen, he showcases his unique style. An architecture graduate from Universidad Rafael Landívar, he is also developing a video art piece titled 'Un viaje a Marte' (A voyage to Mars).
