Guadagnino's 'After The Hunt' Premieres at Venice Film Festival

Luca Guadagnino presented his psychological thriller 'After The Hunt – Dopo la caccia' out of competition at the 82nd Venice Film Festival. The film stars Julia Roberts in her first appearance at the Lido, alongside Andrew Garfield and Ayo Edebiri. Written by Nora Garrett, the story follows Alma (Roberts), a philosophy professor at Yale whose life unravels when her brilliant student Meg (Edebiri) accuses her esteemed colleague and friend Hank (Garfield) of harassment. Guadagnino cited Woody Allen's films from 1985-1991 as inspiration and explored themes of power, ambition, and buried secrets. Shot on location at Yale, the film uses the university as a dramatic microcosm. The score is by Trent Reznor & Atticus Ross. Guadagnino hopes the film provokes anger and debate, noting it has divided critics. It will be released in Italian theaters on October 16 via Eagle Pictures.
