Group Show at Galerie Alberta Pane Explores Desire and Science

Galerie Alberta Pane's new Venice venue opens with a group exhibition inspired by Gilles Deleuze's concept of desire. The show features works by Gayle Chong Kwan, Romina De Novellis, Marie Denis, Christian Fogarolli, Michelangelo Penso, Marcos Lutyens, and Ivan Moudov. Chong Kwan examines contradictions of female artists balancing creative and procreative roles. De Novellis performed on a boat through canals surrounded by Mediterranean country flags. Denis created a wall sculpture inspired by plant life. Fogarolli explores science and concentrationary worlds of madness. Penso's sculpture evokes biological research with enlarged bacteria and viruses suspended as abstract forms. Lutyens presents robotic and cognitive installations, using hypnosis during the opening for a performance on blindness. Moudov's work is a contract between collector and artist committing to value appreciation.
